Our programs
It is our hope that we can provide raised box gardens to grow vegetables at schools, community organizations, and housing communities. Not only will we provide the resources for the gardens but we will also provide support by way of mentor/volunteers with already established “growers”.
We are working to spread the “grow your own food” movement. We want to focus on sustainable growing methods, recycling, waste minimization and nutrition education. It has been shown that kids (and likely many adults) are more likely to eat their own vegetables if they grow them and take ownership in them.
- The Framingham Housing Authority strives to provide, safe, sanitary and secure housing for extremely low to moderate-income families while promoting and encouraging economic self-sufficiency and creating a welcoming environment for residents to live. For the Love of K Gardens has installed 15 garden boxes with irrigation, provided soil and plantings to start the residents on their journey to learn and grow their own food.
